Week 1 is finally here. Here are the best games to watch.
Sunday, 1 p.m.:
Raiders @ Titans
There’s a ton of hype surrounding both teams. The Raiders are coming off their first winning season since 2002, and the Titans are looking for their first division title since 2008. Both teams have exciting offenses headed by young, rising quarterbacks, and both have suspect defenses. This should be a great week 1 game.
Eagles @ Redkins
NFC East games are always great, and this one should be particularly fun. The Redskins have a new-look offense after the addition of Terrelle Pryor; he should help their red zone woes. The Eagles have an exciting defense, but all eyes are on Carson Wentz in his sophomore season. I think he outperforms Kirk Cousins in a week 1 showdown.
Other 1 p.m. games: Cardinals @ Lions, Ravens @ Bengals, Jags @ Texans.
Sunday, 4:25 p.m.:
Seahawks @ Packers**
This could very well be the game of the week. Aaron Rodgers vs. the Seahawks dominant defense at Lambeau field. And it’s by far the best game during this time slot. Everybody will be watching. It will live up to the hype.
Sunday and Monday Night Football:
Giants @ Cowboys (SNF)
This game is always electric. Will Zeke play? Will Dallas beat the Giants after going 0-2 last year against them? The Cowboys and Giants are the co-favorites to win the NFC East; this game should be perfect to cap the first NFL Sunday.
Chargers @ Broncos, Saints @ Vikings (MNF)
The Chargers traveling to Denver for their first game as the LA Chargers should be fun, while Adrian Peterson and the Saints getting a shot at the Vikings will be fascinating. I have no idea how much AP has left in the tank, but he’ll exhaust every ounce of what’s left against his former team. Both are good games for the opening night MNF double-header.
