Nov. 5, 2016: Seton Hall Prep @ Bergen Catholic

Seton Hall Prep lost a tough road game 21-7 at Bergen Catholic, but the game was closer than the score may suggest.

Bergen Catholic jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter after recovering a Seton Hall fumble and returning it 50 yards for a touchdown.

The Prep answered right back on a 34-yard touchdown pass from Cam Carti to Andrew Perez, making the score 7-7 until Bergen Catholic took the lead late in the third quarter on a 13-yard touchdown pass from Johnny Langan to Dylan Classi.

The Prep drove down the field in the fourth quarter to attempt to tie it back up, but came up short on fourth down. Bergen Catholic later scored on a 1-yard pass play, giving them a late 21-7 lead that would stand.

The Prep’s Jonathon Alvarado had 10 tackles and a sack, while Paul Theobald recorded 21 tackles. Cam Carti threw for 170 yards and a touchdown, and Andrew Perez caught six passes for 70 yards and a score.

Seton Hall Prep falls to 2-7 on the season, but earned a playoff game against Don Bosco Prep Friday night, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m.
