Oct. 22, 2016: Seton Hall Prep falls to DePaul 37-17

WEST ORANGE — The Prep falls to 1-6 on the season after losing to DePaul Catholic Saturday, Oct. 22, 37-17 on a rainy and windy afternoon.

DePaul took a commanding 14-0 lead in just the first four minutes of the game, but The Prep battled back to make to make it 17-7 at halftime.

The Prep then cut their early deficit to three points after an early third quarter touchdown, making the score 17-14 with a ton of ball game to play.

DePaul ran away with it after scoring back-to-back touchdowns in a matter of minutes, taking a secure 31-17 lead into the fourth quarter after a Prep field goal.

The Prep was unable to score in the fourth, and DePaul’s late touchdown gave them a 37-17 lead that would stand.

Sophomore quarterback Aidan Gilman returned and threw for 181 yards and one touchdown in The Prep’s loss. Senior Dwayne Warren caught seven of those passes for 112 yards and a touchdown, but it was not enough to overcome DePaul’s offense.
