Mets Preview: Diamondbacks Series

Welcome back the over-.500 New York Mets!!! The Mets took two of three against the Padres at home this past weekend. The highlight of this series  was Steven Matz, who went 7.1 innings with 8 K’s and just one hit allowed.  Now the Mets (59-58) begin a series in Arizona vs. the Diamondbacks (48-69).

We all know what happened in the last series, when the Mets had an abysmal performance and got swept.  They will have recent accusation Justin Ruggiano returning to the lineup, not really anything special, along with Jose Reyes who played his first game back yesterday and looked healthy.

The Mets need this series back from the D’backs after they walked straight through them last time. Game one will feature Bartolo Colon vs. Robbie Ray.  Bartolo has been the most consistent pitcher for the Mets, and you can look for him to continue this hot streak tonight, and hopefully the bats can get him the win this time to reward him for his efforts.

Mets are still 2.5 games out of the Wild Card, so everything counts now.
